Subproject: Understanding and Agreement in L2 Doctor-Patient Interaction
This subproject deals with strategies used by doctors and patients in order to avoid and prevent understanding problems in conversation. It studies in part the L1 speakers’ adaptation to the L2 speakers and their strategies for checking the interlocutors’ understanding, partly strategies used by L2 speakers in order to check their own or their interlocutor’s understanding.
