The archive of the Norwegian Institute in Rome documents the history of the institute, its scholars, and twentieth-century Norwegian scholarship and fieldwork abroad. It consists of two main components: the Historical Archive of the Institute and the Photographic Archive.

På et bord ligger en brun eldre boks for fotografier hvor det står på italiensk «Ferrania. Lastre Cappeli». Rundt ligger sort-hvitt fotografier.
