Screen Cultures is one of five prioritized research areas at the Faculty of Humanities from 2019 to 2023. Our work is conducted through four nodes:
- Screen Histories and Theories, headed by Pasi Väliaho
- Screen Aesthetics, headed by Timotheus Vermeulen
- Screen Politics, headed by Steffen Krüger
- Screen Technologies, headed by Taina Bucher
Research in these nodes is closely coordinated with teaching in the Screen Cultures MA programme and aims to challenge and sharpen the ways in which we think about screens and our relations with them.
