Dissertation project
My project is part of the transdisciplinary research project ClimateCultures: Socionatural entanglements in Little Ice Age Norway at UiO and NTNU. I focus on periods in eighteenth century Norway when severe climate change coincided with harvest failure, famine, and the spread of epidemic diseases. I am interested in the entanglements of climate and society and explore the impact of extreme climatic stress on culture, knowledge systems, health, and political interactions.
