Academic interests

I research transnational social movements in the second half of the 20th century. I am particularly interested in the political, social and cultural movements which sprung forth in Europe and North America during the Cold War and which are traditionally associated with the year 1968. My central focus has been to study the contacts made between these movements and other movements from the Global South.

PhD Project

My PhD project is part of the Nordic Civil Societies project at UiO. The project focuses on the phenomenon of transnational solidarity through a case study of the solidarity movement with Chile in Norway between 1973 and 1990. In the project, I investigate how different actors attempted to realise their concepts of solidarity through the movement.
