- Jeg er miljøarkeolog som spesialiserer seg på arkeometrisk datering og økologiske rekonstruksjoner av menneskeskapt miljø. Forskningen min bruker vitenskapelige utstyr for å finne svar på viktige spørsmål som knyttes til felles-evolusjonen av mennesker og terrestriske og atmosfæriske systemer. Mitt mål er å utvikle en dypere forståelse av den menneskelige fortiden ved analysering av forbindelser mellom verdens sfærer (litosfæren, biosfæren, atmosfæren) og påvirkningene mennesker har på verdens økologiske systemer.

Bakgrunn
Jeg har hatt studentjobber som lastebilsjåfør, altmuligmann, musiker og vaktmester, men oppdaget min store lidenskap som arkeolog. Jeg jobbet som vikar-arkeolog i USA etter at jeg ble ferdig med PhD-avhandlingen min. Etterpå ble jeg ansatt ved Seoul National University i Sør-Korea i 2010. Jeg begynte å jobbe som førsteamanuensis ved Universitetet i Oslo høsten 2019.
Den akademiske forskningen min har for det meste vært i Afrika (Kenya, Kamerun, Malawi), men jeg har også deltatt i prosjekter i Norge, Tadsjikistan, Mexico, Sør-Korea, Brasil og sørvest i USA . Jeg er med på flere store og små prosjekter som handler om samhandlingen mellom mennesker og landskap.
