Research interests

Early modern intellectual history in Europe and Denmark-Norway, with a particular focus on the history of knowledge, genres and communication forms, periodicals, the idea of freedom of speech and the emergence of public debate. Also seventeenth and eighteenth century French philosophy, literature and cultural history, gender questions, historiography and the cultural and intellectual history of the ocean.
