Philosophy Work-in-Progress Seminar (WIP)

At regular intervals, we organize a WIP seminar where staff at IFIKK can present early-stage philosophy papers and ideas in an informal, relaxed environment. The seminar is open to all philosophical topics, both practical and theoretical. All are welcome to attend!

Time and place

Last Wednesday of the month, 12:00-13:00, GM452 (unless otherwise announced).

About the WIP seminar

The WIP seminar is meant to serve at least two main purposes. Firstly, it provides a venue for trying out ideas aimed at generalist journals. Both early-career and established researchers target these prestigious publications, but it is not always obvious which ideas will appeal to a broader philosophical audience. With IFIKK's wide range of philosophical expertise, there will almost always be a representative test audience for these ideas.

Secondly, the seminar is meant to facilitate and encourage co-authorship of articles. Good article ideas are often partly interdisciplinary (epistemology meets political philosophy, history of philosophy meets contemporary metaphysics, aesthetics meets AI, etc. etc. etc.) and therefore sometimes difficult for a single specialist to develop alone.

Last but not least, we would all like to know more about the wide range of exciting philosophical work being done at IFIKK and get to know our colleagues better.
