Academic interests
I have a general interest in entertainment communication, media industries, movies, music, and how we use (new) media technologies to have fun. Specifically, in my PhD research project I am studying how we understand and use recommendation algorithms in music streaming services and the possible effects they have on us as users and the ways we listen to music.
Background
I hold a research master's degree in communication science from the University of Amsterdam in The Netherlands and a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Costa Rica. Before working at the University of Oslo I was a junior lecturer in Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam, where I taught theory and method courses at a bachelor level.
