Academic interests
PhD-candiate working with the research project "Photofake – Visual Disinformation, the Digital Economy and the Epistemology of the Camera Image" funded by the Research Council of Norway. Here, my main research focus is:
- Visual Source Criticism
- AI, Photorealism and Technical Camera-Based Practices
- Potential for Disinformation in New Media
I have worked extensively with new and emerging forms of media media over the last decade, especially user generated content (UGC) and its role and use in traditional media. My book "Digital kildekritikk" [Digital Source Criticism] was published by Gyldendal Akademisk in 2021.
In 2024 Routledge published the english version: Evaluating Digital Sources in Journalism: An Introduction to Digital Source Criticism.

Background
For most of the 2010's I have worked as a journalist, acting editor and advisor at the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation's R&D-lab NRKbeta.
- At the Tinius Trust, the largest shareholder in Schibsted Media Group, I worked as a strategic advisor.
- I hold an MA in New Media and Digital Culture from the University of Amsterdam.
- Previously a board member of the Norwegian Online News Association (NONA).
I have guest lectured at OsloMet, NTNU, University of Stavanger, Volda University College and Kristiania University College.
Additionally, I have presented my work at conferences such as SXSW Interactive, The Conference, Nordic Media Days and SKUP. I annually contribute to the media future predictions from the Nieman Journalism Lab at Harvard.
