About the project
This project identified why and how media content might affect integration negatively. Through this work, the project provided practical recommendations on how Norwegian media can best function as a unifying public arena.
This study is relevant to how news coverage and media content reflect and treat diversity. It also deals with news consumption among immigrants, and with the understanding of media from the perspective of this group of the population.
The project therefore provides a significant practical contribution to the development of democracy, particularly to a more diversity-oriented media and public discourse. It will have important practical implications for future Norwegian policies in relation to minorities, immigrants, and integration.
Cristina Archetti and Banafsheh Ranji, with the collaboration of award-winning artist and storyteller Medha Zolfaqari, have translated the results of the project into a performance. You can watch a recording of it below.
