PhD Project
Working title: Distant and close: Norwegian Poetry and Digital Methods
I study Norwegian and Scandinavian poetry across time and space, and I have a special interest in the lyric genre. In my PhD project, I study Norwegian poetry from the 19th century, and specifically the new poetry from the 1890s. I combine traditional close reading methods with quantitative, computational literary analysis, and I am particularly interested in understanding how the combination of these methods works with the genre of poetry. My doctoral project is part of the first work package in the research project Norwegian Romantic Nationalisms (NORN).
