A bottom-up analysis of monument construction and social relations in Scandinavia in the fifth to eleventh centuries AD for the degree of philosophiae doctor (PhD).

Advanced course in methods: This one-day PhD course introduces “materialities” as both a conceptual approach and a research methodology across the humanities and social sciences. The course explores how scholars have foregrounded things, environments, and more-than-human relations to rethink culture, society, and historical knowledge.
