Academic interests
Political philosophy. Immanuel Kant. German idealism. Critical theory (the Frankfurt School). Deliberative democracy. Philosophy of law.
My Ph.D. project is on Immanuel Kant's political philosophy. More specifically, I focus on Kant's concept of citizenship, and his distinction between active and passive citizenship. In my project, I also seek to provide new insights into how some of Kant's immediate successors (J.B. Erhard, J.G. Fichte and Friedrich Schlegel) built on and criticized Kant's understanding of political rights. My framework is inspired by theories of deliberative democracy.
