Research

The current environmental crisis calls for deep cultural and social transformations. We need to better understand the values, ideas, ethics, and ways of life that have led to the present condition in order to reach a radical change.

Research and teaching at OSEH covered a wide span of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences.

Collaboratories

OSEH funded ten Collaboratories, where scholars explored new research questions dealing with the complex social and ecological dilemmas of the Anthropocene.

Studies

The Oslo School of Environmental Humanities (OSEH) aimed to experiment with new forms of teaching in the Anthropocene. Through collaborative lectures, experimental seminars, and field excursions, students learned to better understand and address the environmental challenges of our times.

Honours Certificate in Environmental Humanities and Sciences

OSEHs Honours certificate offers the unique opportunity to develop interdisciplinary competence in environmental and climate change studies. It runs in parallel with the student's main Master programme, over two years.
