Access to the reading room
The reading room on the 3rd floor of P.A. Munch's building serves as a shared reading room for all master's students at IKOS. Contact Kortsenteret in Kristian Ottosens hus if you don't possess a student card: kortsenteret@uio.no.

To prevent theft, always lock your valuable items in the lockers when leaving the reading room. The department is not able to replace lost or stolen property.
Guidelines
Please make sure that you are aware of and understand the guidelines for using the reading room:
Reading desks
The reading room has a total of 88 seats, some of which are allocated as permanent seats for Master's students, PhD students, and students with special needs.
Permanent Seats
Approximately half of the seats in the reading room are designated as fixed seats. Maps showing the reading room seats will be put up inside the reading room from the first week of July. Here you can write your name, e-mail and how many semesters you need the spot for. First-come, first-served principle will apply for seat 1 up to and including seat 43.
We expect students who are allocated a fixed seat to use the reading room regularly, and to familiarize themselves with and understand the guidelines for use of the reading room. Students with a fixed seat may leave belongings at their designated seat.
If you have been allocated a fixed seat but do not use it, we ask that you contact us so that we can assign the seat to someone else.
Accommodation seats
Students with special accommodation needs may apply for a fixed seat; this applies to both bachelor’s and master’s students. Seats 44 to 58 are reserved for students with accommodation needs. Open reading room seats
With the exception of the seats reserved for PhD candidates, the remaining seats are open. All master’s students at IKOS with access to the reading room may use the open seats. Open seats must be cleared every day so that they are available to everyone who wishes to use the reading room. We encourage you to use a locker if you want to leave belongings in the reading room.
Lockers
In the reading room there are 106 lockers that all students with access to the reading room may use. Students must use their own padlock to lock the lockers. The lockers are numbered, and students must register their use of a locker on a sheet posted at the entrance to the reading room. As with the reading room map, the first-come, first-served principle applies to lockers that are not already in use.
To ensure the lockers are available to as many students as possible, we will clear out any locker that is not registered to a student in September. We will announce the date for clearing lockers in advance.
Printer
If you want to print any documents, please use the desktop computer. If you experience any issues with the printer or computer, please contact it-hjelp@uio.no. If there is a lack of paper or toner for the printer, please contact the reception on the 4th floor or send an email to henvendelser@ikos.uio.no.
There are multiple printers available in the libraries. You can also print from your personal computer using Mobilprint.
