About the group
The Multispecies Landscapes Lab unites humanities scholars to re-conceptualise landscapes as historically situated, more-than-human assemblages, requiring an interdisciplinary approach.
The lab combines insights from environmental and medical history, philosophy, literature, anthropology, archaeology, religious studies, and cultural history.
Its goal is to develop a new understanding of landscapes, emphasising the processes, interdependencies, and practices that shape how landscapes are known, built, conserved, and inhabited by humans alongside other species.
The research group is part of the strategic research initiative Oslo Center for Environmental Humanities (OCEH).
