Ongoing projects
- The Afterlives of Natural History What is natural history? This project investigates the entanglement of natural and humanist knowledge, historically and today. The project is funded by the Norwegian Research Council. The folklore collector and natural scientist P. Chr. Asbjørnsen is the point of departure for my subproject, exploring how these knowledge practices were intertwined.
- REA:Life is an interdiciplinary natural and cultural sciences project that retrieves lost medicinal knowledge through historical sources and identifies novel bioactive compounds using the latest methods in pharmacology, immunology and metagenomics. The project is funded by UiO's interdiciplinary initative UiO:Life Science.
- SAMLA National Infrastructure for Cultural History and Tradition Archives. SAMLA will establish a national infrastructure for Norwegian intangible heritage from three tradition archives. These archives hold records of a diversity of cultural expressions and practises of both majority, minority and indigenous cultures in Norway, in the form of folktales, ballads, beliefs, food and craft traditions, life stories as well as descriptions of children's games.
