In this lecture, professor Dmytro Iarovyi from Kyiv School of Economics looks at how the war between Russia and Ukraine is being fought not only on the front line but also in films, TV shows, memes, and social media.

This PhD-course in theory explores literature’s relation to society, focusing on three influential philosophers, Michel Foucault, Giorgio Agamben, and Jacques Rancière. It examines the ways in which literary works raise questions about subjectivity, experience, and freedom under various societal conditions, and considers how aesthetical and political questions intersect.

I dette foredraget undersøker Katarzyna Swieszek hvordan Gogols Taras Bulba ble omformet mellom versjonene fra 1835 og 1842, og hvordan den senere versjonen innlemmet fortellingen om de ukrainske kosakkene i et russisk nasjonalt og imperialt narrativ.

This PhD course aims to discuss the relation between comparative approaches to the study of literature vis-à-vis more recent approaches collected under the umbrella term of world literature. The purpose is to facilitate a methodological discussion of how to carry out comparative, transnational and/or multilingual research
