About the group
The group investigates rituals, ecology, affect and emotions, and performativity in conjunction. We focus on various types of rituals, including religious, civic, legal, and artistic ones.
REAP draws upon insights from established disciplines, including religious studies, social anthropology, art history, archaeology, cultural studies, and literary studies.
The group will organise a series of seminars, workshops, excursions, performances, and PhD courses on rituals and ecology. This will create space for dialogue with established subfields in environmental humanities, such as eco-criticism, eco art, environmental anthropology, and eco-theology.
The research group is part of the strategic research initiative, Oslo Center for Environmental Humanities (OCEH).
