Nominated to the Palestine Book Awards, this is the first of two books by Erik Skare in 2021, published by Cambridge University Press. A former doctoral research fellow at the Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages, Skare wrote his PhD thesis on this subject here at the University of Oslo. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for International Studies (CERI), Sciences Po. In July, his upcoming second book for the year, Palestinian Islamic Jihad: Islamist Writings on Resistance and Religion will be published by I.B. Tauris.
