Teaching Station
The teaching stations in the seminar rooms let you choose how you want to share your media through an intuitive Crestron touchpad display.

Equipment
- Creston touchpad display
- Stationary PC with Windows 10
- Projector and screen
- USB-C for connecting a personal laptop (includes adapters)
- Mini-jack audio connection
- CD player
- 2x B&W Hifi speakers
- Logitech web camera and remote controller
Turn on the Crestron system simply by interacting with the display that sits on the teaching station desk. It is equally important to turn off the system when you leave. This procedure is clearly marked on the Crestron display by the big "Quit" button.

The projector screen can be raised or lowered using designated switches on the wall of the seminar room. In seminar room 3, the canvas lowers automatically when booting the Crestron system.
Personal Laptop as Media Source
To use a personal laptop as a media source, connect the laptop to the system via the available USB-C. You can also use several adapters available if you have HDMI or other video output ports on your machine. Next, choose the LAPTOP option under the Projector banner on the Crestron Display.

Finally, remember to choose the correct output source on your laptop and that the volume on your laptop is high.
You may also have to adjust the settings on the "Kildevelger" amp in the seminar room hardware rack to get sound from the speakers. To listen to audio from the USB-C cable, choose the following settings:

Seminar Room PC as Media Source
To use the seminar room's stationary PC as a media source, first log into the PC with your UiO account. Then, choose the PC MONITOR 1 option under the Projector banner on the Crestron display.

Next, navigate to the Windows sound option and make sure that the sound source is set to "AFT-G-2" and that the volume is high. And again, make sure the audio volume of the computer is decently high.

Mini-jack and CD player as Media Source
It's possible to listen to audio from a mini-jack cable and a CD player on the B&W speakers. For the mini-jack, connect your device to the available mini-jack plug on the desk and choose the appropriate settings on the "Kildevelger" amp.

NB. In seminar room 3, the settings on the "Kildevelger" need to be as the image below to hear sound from the mini-jack. Here, Tape Monitor is set to "Tape 2" and the Input Selector stays on "CD".

For playing CDs, simply turn on the CD player, insert a CD, and play. The player is connected directly to the speakers, so there is no need to configure the Crestron display. If there is no sound, try different settings of "Tape monitor" and/or "Input selector".
Hybrid Teaching
The seminar rooms are equipped with Logitech conference cameras, convenient for hybrid teaching where participants are both remote and local. Below are the steps to set up a hybrid teaching environment in the IMV seminar rooms.

Equipment
- Seminar room teaching station with a stationary PC connected to a Logitech audio-video system.
- Your personal laptop
Zoom Setup
When logging on and starting a Zoom session on a Seminar Room stationary PC, the Logitech system will normally connect automatically. If not, choose Logitech in the audio and video settings. Run "Test speaker" in Zoom to check the levels. Volume is adjusted on the Logitech desktop device or by using the remote controller.

The Logitech system also features a wall-mounted Logitech PTZ Pro 2 web camera. Choose this camera in Zoom and use the remote controller, or the control panel on the Logitech desktop device, to adjust the camera zoom and direction.

Finally, share the screen to show the PowerPoint on the stationary PC to both local and remote participants.
If you wish to use your personal laptop on the hybrid session, connect to the Zoom room with another Zoom account. In this case, it is important that you mute your microphone and speakers on your personal laptop in Zoom. We use the Teaching Station as our only speaker and microphone. Then, when teaching, share all learning materials (PowerPoint and audio) via Zoom's "share screen" function, so that all physical attendees can see your shared content on the projector screen in the Seminar Rooms, while the virtual attendees see it via Zoom. Also, take the opportunity to use your laptop's built-in web camera as a presenter camera in your hybrid space. This brings the virtual attendees closer to the presenter/teacher.
Important Notes
Hybrid teaching may take some extra minutes to prepare. Therefore, remember to come to the seminar room and prepare for hybrid teaching at least 10 minutes before class.
